Looking to help companies regain about 25% of their work week through lost time searching company records and information, Forbes is reporting that Google is revamping it's corporate search functionality, or what they call the Google Search Appliance (sounds corporate).
The new features add to that search functionality the ability to also scan things in Google’s cloud-based Apps product, which includes word processing and spreadsheets, plus everything public on the Web, including information from Twitter and many blogs. There is also a “people search” feature, which supposedly makes it easier to find experts in a specific field. There are also more search modifying tools, and a connection into Microsoft’s Sharepoint product.
95% of Google's revenue still comes from public consumer search though keeping it important to ensure you get on Google with your blog, website, or product.
